The Hualālai ‘Ohana Foundation offers a variety of Academic Incentive Awards to inspire pursuit of good grades and support student success for lifelong learners. There are 3 types of awards: the Honor Roll Award (grades 6-12), Academic Merit Award (grade 12 and college students) and the Work for College Award (college students who work during the summer).
Awards are provided to assist full-time and part-time (more than 20 hours per week) employees and their immediate family (spouse, dependents) after six months of employment. Students must be children of Hualalai Resort employees, contractors, vendors, service providers or hotel employees. Dependent age cap is 24 years old. Applicants are required to complete an EE verification form and submit with all applications. Household income cap is $195,000 per year combined. These awards open in June and close in September of each year.

The Honor Roll Program celebrates academic achievement by providing cash awards. To apply, please submit your child’s report card along with the application by July 1, 2024. If your child’s school is not publishing grades for the 4th quarter, please submit your child’s 3rd quarter report card instead. Keiki in grades 6-8 receive $150 and grades 9-12 receive $250. Application link will go live on May 31.

The Academic Merit Award celebrates academic achievement among high school seniors heading to college and current college students. Incoming first-year students with a 3.5 GPA receive $500. Continuing college students with a 3.5 GPA receive $2,500. This program helps inspire academic performance and motivate students by providing financial incentives for good grades.

Work for College Award: Summer Earnings Match
This academic incentive program provides a match of up to $1,500 on summer employment earnings for college students who work over the summer months.
Summer earnings eligible match period is May 12 through September 3, 2024. Applicant must provide paystubs within the eligible match period.
